---------------------------------------

Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sugar
1 egg
5/8 cup plain yogurt
4 tbsp milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp butter, melted

For the spicy onions:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp table salt

Method:

1.  Preheat the oven to 425 F. Sift the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda into a bowl. Stir in the sugar.

2.  In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, yogurt, milk, and oil. Pour into the flour mixture and bring together to make a soft dough. Knead briefly, cover with oiled plastic wrap and set aside for 15 minutes.

3.  For the spicy onions, heat the oil in a pan and cook the onions with the garam masala, sugar and salt for 15 minutes until golden brown.

4.  Roll the dough out into a large rectangle. Using your fingers, press the dough into a jelly roll pan.

5.  Scatter over the spicy onions, pressing them into the surface of the dough with the back of a spoon.
Bake for 10 minutes until puffed and browned. Remove, brush with the melted butter and serve warm.
