8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 onion, minced
Salt and ground pepper
30 small bread squares, toasted

Method:
1. Preheat the broiler, mix the cream cheese, egg,
onion, and pepper together, mashing them well with a fork, add salt to
taste.
2. Spread generously on toasted bread and run
under the broiler until puffed and lightly browned.
3. Serve at once.
